BIODIGESTOR,BIOGAS AND WASTE WATER INTEGRATED SYSTEM -HUMA GIRLS
BTTI, built a modern state of the art integrated system in Huma Girls Kisumu County,.The system has seen the school improve greatly in terms of sanitation while saving big on wood fuel and water.Additionally,the school farm is thriving ,thanks to the BTTI inegrated system which also has an option of organic fertilizer production.Apart from waste mangement, the school ges gas from the plant which they use in the kichen for cooking, in the labaratory and homescience departments.Further water from the system is treated and reused/recycled which is then used in laundry and the biotoilets.All waste is catered for in a cost effective one off manner ensuring a clen,odour free environment and completely removes the need to dig pit latrines.The system has reported excellent results in the last three years of its existance. Maintainace cost is very minimal. Other schools have used this system as a benchmark for installation of their syatems by BTTI.
